Yanni the ice cream man has been selling ice cream to kids and coming to homes on the peninsula for as long as
many can remember. He is listed in the local directory and moms from Manhasset and Roslyn always phoned him for special occasions or just to get the kids ice cream.
“He came to my house for over 16 years,” said Janine Vitacco, a Flower Hill mother. 
Yanni’s last day was July 2.
A wonderful, friendly and loving man. He has been around for numerous celebrations. He came anytime he was called.
The neighborhood will miss his visits.
