stmarysWhole Foods Market, located on Northern Boulevard in Manhasset, has announced an exciting philanthropic initiative to support children with special needs in New York.  On April 2, the grocery store will donate 5% of its net sales to St. Mary’s Kids at Roslyn— a dynamic therapy center and sensory gym that provides evaluation, consultation, treatment and rehabilitation services for children with developmental needs. St. Mary’s Kids at Roslyn is part of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, a nonprofit organization that cares for New York’s critically ill and injured children.

“We’re honored to support these innovative childhood development programs at St. Mary’s Kids at Roslyn,” said Melissa Smith, Marketing Team Leader at Whole Foods Market Manhasset. “Helping local families and a great organization like St. Mary’s is precisely the type of partnership we look for within our local community.”

St. Mary’s Kids at Roslyn offers early childhood services and evaluations, including occupational, physical, speech, and feeding therapies.  The center also offers family/caregiver support groups and Mommy and Me (parent/child) groups.  Each day, the Center’s pediatric therapists work closely with children (newborn to age 5) to help them achieve developmental milestones in a fun and kid-friendly atmosphere.

“Whole Foods Market has a remarkable reputation, not only for exceptional customer care, but for their commitment and generosity to their community,” said Sharon Pardo, Director of St. Mary’s Kids at Roslyn the Roslyn Center. “On behalf of the thousands of children we care for each day, we are grateful for their support.”
