teamOn Friday, Jan. 17, the Boys Varsity swim team competed against conference 1 rival Sewanhaka. On this night, the team recognized outgoing seniors Connor Lee, Robert Godfried, Maxwell Hu, Stephen Tranchina, Chris Harragan, Kevin Beil and Bran Mo. A total team effort would be required to be competitive against a talented Sewanhaka team that features several of the top swimmers in Nassau. The MHS team would have to be patient and resilient, using their team depth to outscore their opponent.

After a quick start by Sewanhaka, the Indians bounced back by winning two closely contested races. Jeffrey McNeary won the 200yd Individual Medley and Sean Earley the 50 yd Freestyle. As the meet progressed, Manhasset continued to place all three individual swimmers in the top five (top five places score team points) of each event. In the evening’s 10th event, swimmers Conor Beil, Mike Perulli and Nick Magliulo finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd to open up an 83-63 lead. The 400 Free Relay Team consisting of Jeff McNeary, Sean Earley, Mike Perulli and Conor Beil finished first to seal the win for Manhasset. The victory is the third of the season for the boys.
