SCA Fair A Blast!

SCAFair_050914GOn Saturday, May 2, crowds came to enjoy the famous Manhasset School Community Assocation.  The fair is the biggest fundraiser for the Manhasset SCA. Hundreds of volunteers under the guidance of Linda Gurino and Stella Binaris worked miracles with the dwindling volunteer base to put together this fabulous event.  Here are a few pictures of the event.

With the temperature in the high 50s low 60s, fairgoers enjoyed the rides, food, shopping and entertainment available throughout the day. Pony rides were the number one attraction for the little ones, while kids tried their luck at the gaming booths coming away with stuffed animals, balls, and assorted prizes.  As always, the hot dog tent and international food court had a brisk business as did the plant lady, Margie Suga, who made sure you had plants to give to mom.

Inside the tent, the toys, attic treasures and sports tables had a brisk trade. Manhasset Coalition Against Substance Abuse gave out free back packs to all. Manhasset Spiritwear was in demand as was the treasures being sold by various vendors. Outside the tent, pie throwing was serious as friends threw pies at each other on the wall.  Good fun had by all.

With the rock climbing wall, and the football toss, and baseball cage – all sports were covered. The entertainment was fabulous with the Manhasset talent being showcased on the great stage.
