MHS Alumni Meet In Miami

manhassetWhile vacationing last December, Manhasset High School grads Jim Brown ’53 and Dennis Klainberg ’80 bumped into each other on Miami Beach. They recounted their first meeting in the late seventies, at Coach Walsh’s retirement party, where Klainberg performed along with the Manhasset High School stage band.

According to Kleinberg,“Jim Brown impressed me in two big ways—by his graciousness, whereby he congratulated each and every band member and leader Frank Smith for our performance, and by his handshake. I seem to recall it literally swallowed my entire hand!”

They discussed how both were mentored by the late great Ken Molloy, and both know Thomas “Bill” Butler ‘53–a best friend to Brown during high school, and a Silver M colleague of Klainberg.
