Take me out to the ballpark and come on down to this year’s Triple Play Classic (TPC) which will take place on Saturday, April 27.

Marielle Oliveri, Emma Truscello, Olivia Robson and Lucy Tashjian

The action-packed day begins at 8:30 a.m. with Manhasset Police Athletics League (PAL) clinics for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten players followed by clinics for first graders at 9:30 a.m.
The youth clinics will be run by coaches with the assistance of varsity and junior varsity Manhasset High School baseball players. Following the clinics, there will be a varsity softball game against West Hempstead High School at 10:30 a.m. and a varsity baseball game against Transit Tech at 11:30 a.m. It will be a great day for players and their families, as well as the community. There will be food, fun and raffles to enjoy.
The TPC has been an extremely successful fundraiser for the Manhasset PAL Baseball and Softball League and the Booster Club. Athletes of all ages benefit from this awesome event. Funds raised in the past have been used to improve Manhasset’s baseball and softball facilities, purchase needed equipment, fund challenger clinics for children with special needs and provide scholarships for high school students.
Improvements made to date include a new field surface at Munsey Park, new pitching mounds at Shelter Rock and Munsey Park, a new pitcher’s mound and home plate area at the varsity baseball field, fencing down the right field line at the varsity baseball field, new stands, an indoor batting cage, the flag pole in center field, windscreens over the baseball and softball fields and a new scoreboard to be installed at the varsity baseball field. Without the monies raised by the TPC, these improvements would not have been possible. Your participation and generosity ensure the success of the event and enhance our baseball and softball programs. The TPC Committee is seeking donations of raffle ticket items such as sporting equipment, sporting event tickets, gift cards etc. To make a donation, email the TPC Committee at bdega@optonline.net.
