Manhasset Community Club

On Tuesday, Oct. 21, the Manhasset Community Club presents Constance Del Vecchio Maltese, a well-known portrait artist who rose to new eminence with her stunning series “Age of Discovery Navigators,” 13 portraits of the great discoverers who, beginning with Christopher Columbus, changed the face of the earth and opened the New World.  She will explain in detail how she developed the faces in a few of these portraits as well as the background scenes.

Guests are welcome. Gues fee of $5 includes lunch and program.  The lecture will take place 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Our Savior Lutheran at 1901 Northern Blvd.  For further information, contact Barbara Pierce at 627-0662,

Elizabeth Johnson is former editor of Manhasset Press and Manhasset Press Magazine. Growing up in nearby Garden City and attending New York University, she is well-versed in the locale and knowledgeable about the beat she covers. Her community involvement is extensive and includes the Manhasset SCA, Kiwanis International, Manhasset Chamber of Commerce, St. Mary’s Church, and various civic and local charitable organizations.
