Eighteen Guns Found At Manhasset Residence

Circle Drive resident arrested April 7

The Nassau County Police Department Major Case Bureau arrested Matthew Spigner, 69, of Circle Drive in Manhasset for an incident that occurred on Thursday, April 7, at 12:12 p.m.

According to Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives, The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, along with Homeland Security Investigations, United States Customs and Border Protection and United States Postal Inspectors executed a search warrant at Spigner’s house. During the subsequent investigation, 18 handguns were recovered from the residence. Spigner was placed into police custody without incident.

The defendant is being charged with one count each of criminal possession of a weapon in the first and second degrees and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
