
The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Spring Business Card Exchange on April 25 at Adelina Boutique Salon located at 500 Plandome Rd. The newly renovated salon was the perfect location for the busy merchant, as executives and members who came to network and expand their businesses relationships and create new opportunities for joint ventures.
Refreshments included Greek appetizers and brownies, soda and wine, as well as free samples of Wat Chu Wan Wonton. The owner created a tasty meal at your fingertips, all folded into a deliciously baked bite-sized wonton.
The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce is composed of members from many diverse industries with many businesses not having a physical storefront, but perhaps start-ups created at home or home businesses.
Adelina Rapo, the owner of Adelina Salon, has been in business for 12 years in the U.S. and has now purchased the building she has her shop in.
Nancy Morris opened the meeting and spoke briefly about the chamber. Each guest introduced themselves. Members, including Northwell Health, The Schools of St. Mary, Manhasset Press, Coach Realtors, Nancy Morris State Farm Insurance, J.P. Morgan Chase, Manhasset Florists, HQ Commercial Properties, Coleman Pensions, Anton Media Group, Long Island Pulse, Non Profit Data Solutions, Manhasset Times, Millennium Software, Hierarchy Architects, Phi Center, Sara Companion Homecare Services, Dr. Sumin Wen, Coldwell Banker, BNB Bank, Wells Fargo and Northwestern Mutual were just a few of the participants at the gathering.
Elizabeth Johnson, vice president of the chamber, spoke of membership and what the chamber does including ribbon cuttings, adopt a pole, beautification, poster contests and supporting concerts in the park at Mary Jane Davies Park. One of the most important missions is to find funding for the planters that line Plandome Road. Information on the chamber’s can be found at www.manhassetny.org.
Upon arriving, guests signed in and received a raffle ticket for one of two gifts provided by Adelina Salon. After introductions, guest continued to mingle and discuss opportunities. Raffle winners included Mitch Schwartz of Millenium Software and Maya Benson of Northwestern Mutual.
The next Manhasset Chamber event will be a shredding event held on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nancy Morris State Farm Insurance parking lot located at 22 Bayview Ave. The event is free to the public. Bring all your confidential papers and you can see it shredded right before your eyes. The chamber will also be asking for donations to beautify the planters.
