The Church of Saint Mary will honor Gene and Mary Murphy with the Magnificat Award at the upcoming Parish Gala being held on Saturday, June 16, at North Hempstead Country Club. The theme of this year’s event is Amazing Grace.

The couple was blessed with eight children: Eugene Paul, Terence, Mary Kerry, Colleen, Thomas, John, Timothy, and Michael; and the family has been an integral part of the Manhasset community and St. Mary’s.

“St. Mary’s parish is forever grateful to Mary and Gene for their exemplary roles as stewards and leaders in the parish, the Manhasset community, as well as their own family. We are so pleased to honor a couple of their dedication, faith, and strength. The gifts they have brought to St. Mary’s are treasures that cannot be easily found. It is befitting that we honor them as this year’s recipients of The Magnificat Award,” said Fr. Robert Romeo.

A commemorative journal and sponsorship opportunities are available for those who wish to help underwrite the event and send their congratulatory messages to Mr. and Mrs. Murphy. For more information, contact the St. Mary’s Office of Development at 516-627-4605 or E-mail development@stmary.ws.
