North Hempstead Ladies Golf Begins

Women’s Golf Association members enjoy Opening Day lunch in the newly
renovated dining room.

The women golfers of North Hempstead Country Club welcomed the start of the 2018 golf season on the brisk, but sunny morning of April 11. Undeterred by a half hour frost delay, 45 women ventured out on the course to play a 9-hole scramble. After golf the players retired to the newly renovated and redecorated clubhouse for a delicious lunch. Patty Millo, president of the Women’s Golf Association, welcomed several new members and presided over the Opening Day meeting, which included remarks by club manager Dan Rogers and head golf professional Greg Hurd. First Vice President Yvette Wright reviewed the season’s tournament offerings of old favorites and new challenges, and the winners of the Opening Day scramble:
