Howard Rose At Lord & Taylor

LordRose_072514AHoward Rose, world renowned painter and instructor, provided a free art demonstration and gallery at Lord & Taylor Manhasset, a forerunner in the global fashion scene.

The event was presented by Trapani Art & Frame, a Manhasset based art gallery and custom framing boutique that displays Rose’s artwork in an effort to provide an homage to the respected Gold Coast art scene, as well as provide a fun outlet for a family weekend.

Some say the ability to create and appreciate art is what separates humans from animals. Through artistic expression, we have been able to capture culture, era, and ideas in a plethora of formats. Music, dance, theater, cuisine, and writing, the list goes on and on. Two of the most notable examples of expression, however, have always been painting and fashion. It is these two cultural linchpins which Trapani Art and Frame and Lord & Taylor’s Manhasset location teamed up to celebrate through a free, public event.

Rose setup a feature demonstration on plein air painting, and how he, as an artist, creates his pieces, from finding inspiration, to turning an empty canvas into a timeless piece. In front of a captivated audience of onlookers, Howard provided insight, instruction, and wisdom as he mapped his way to creating a beautiful piece right on the spot. The event culminated in an impromptu autograph signing and meet and greet with Howard as well as the invitation to view Howard’s gallery being displayed at the same Lord & Taylor location. In addition Howard’s art work can also be viewed and purchased at the Trapani Art & Frame Gallery in Manhasset, a prime location in a town focused on the representing and celebrating the arts.
