The Manhasset School Community Association (SCA) mailed applications to each junior student. The organization has provided awards to rising Seniors in the form of Summer Studies Awards. This program is for students to participate in a summer enrichment activity between their Junior and Senior years. Summer Studies Awards are not based on financial need or academic excellence. Rather, motivation, sincerity and clarity of purpose will be overriding considerations. Any enrichment program that the student chooses is viable for acceptance. Only Manhasset High School juniors are eligible to apply for the Summer Studies Award with no individual award exceeding $500. The tuition cost must be associated with the program applied for. The monies may be used for tuition, books or supplies but may not be used to defer travel expenses.
In order to be considered, students must strictly adhere to the guidelines. Teacher recommendations are due on Monday, March 5, in the guidance office. Complete applications must be submitted on Wednesday, March 28, between the hours of 2:30 to 4 p.m. in room 310. Students must also sign up for their 10 minute interview. All interviews will take place at school on April 16 and 17. Any question, contact Joanna Carlson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 917-855-1500.
